on June 21st 1970 at Montlhéry France, WMH association announces an identical reconstruction of a lost heritage in motorsports.
Created by former members of WM and WR racing teams, WMH association meaning, Welter Meunier Historique aims to bring back to life a missing piece of French automotive history in honour of, Gerard Welter and Michel Meunier.
P70 is the first project chosen by the association for its technical achievements for the time with, monocoque design using composite materials, resulted feather weight of only 505 kg and also for its exceptional exterior design that reflects some of Peugeot automobile designs in the 80’s, long before Gérard Welter became the styling director of the lion brand.
A half century later, despite the absence of the original racing car, WMH members are reverse engineering the prototype from old documents of the period and are beginning to re-build it with different partners.
The aim of the association is to participate in a first historic vehicle event in 2021 and other upcoming competitions, festivals such as, concours d’élégance, Tour Auto and Le Mans Classic, among others which the P70 is eligible.
